The AMHS women’s volleyball team is the premier prep volleyball program in the country. Over the years, the program has produced some incredible alumnae, including three-time Olympic gold medalist Kerri (Walsh ’96) Jennings. The Monarchs have claimed 14 CIF State Championships since 1993. The program offers varsity, junior varsity, and freshman teams.
Coach Wallace brings more than 20 years of collegiate coaching experience to the women’s volleyball program. Following an exceptional playing career as an All-American at the University of California, Santa Barbara, he became a professional volleyball player on the beach and indoor circuits. Coach Wallace went on to become an assistant coach at Pepperdine University before taking over as the head coach at Santa Clara University in 1999. During his time at SCU, the Broncos reached the NCAA tournament 13 times. Coach Wallace was also named the West Coast Conference Coach of the Year three times. In 2005, he was also named the National Coach of the Year.
