The AMHS baseball program has a strong tradition of excellence with several alumni currently playing the sport professionally, including Monarchs who now play for the Boston Red Sox, Kansas City Royals, and Seattle Mariners.The program offers varsity, junior varsity, and freshman teams.
Coach Yocke brings more than 17 years of coaching experience to the job, including coaching the baseball team to this year’s CCS championship. Before taking the lead of the baseball team in 2016, he led the AMHS softball team to five WCAL and four CCS championships between 2011 and 2015. Coach Yocke has been named CCS Honor Coach of the Year, as well as the Coach of the Year by The Mercury News on several occasions. Prior to coaching, Coach Yocke was a standout outfielder for the San Jose State Spartans. He later joined the Spartan coaching staff and helped them to a league championship. Additionally, he has been a head coach in the Alaska Baseball Collegiate League.
